Protein Shake for Muscle Building and Weight Loss

Protein Shake for Muscle Building and Weight Loss.

Protein is, along with water, proverbially the source of all life. Not only competitive athletes are well advised to give their body protein powder. Anyone can do something good for themselves with a protein shake. Whey protein, for example, is a real boost for people who want more performance, better concentration and a more attractive figure. A number of good reasons therefore speak for the protein shake:

Tasty and good for you - the protein shake

Protein belongs to the category of so-called essential nutrients. The human body cannot produce or store protein itself. Rather, it must be supplied "from outside" to ensure an adequate basic supply. Protein should therefore not be missing from your daily diet plan. Fish, meat and dairy products are probably the best-known sources of protein. Legumes, soy products and the like also play a decisive role in this context. The fact is, however, that with a higher performance requirement, a larger amount of these foods would have to be eaten. Usually, however, that is not possible. Protein therefore has to be taken separately, among other ways in the form of protein powder.

Protein powder - the essential dietary supplement.

The basis of proteins is around twenty different amino acids. As is well known, apart from proteins and amino acids, carbohydrates are also among the foundations of a healthy diet. This article, however, is primarily about protein powder. Proteins are attributed numerous positive physiological functions that are of inestimable importance for the human body, for example with regard to well-being, performance, general state of health etc. However, this cannot always be taken in sufficient quantities. A protein shake is the ideal alternative here.

The protein shake - ideal for muscle building and weight loss

Whether animal or plant foods: the protein the body needs must be supplied in comparatively high doses during a weight-loss programme, a diet, or when particular physical or mental performances need to be called upon. Protein powder, enjoyed as a protein shake, is low in fat and calories and, moreover, tastes excellent. Every protein shake can greatly improve your performance.

Nothing works in the human body without protein

As a rule of thumb: when it comes to getting your body in shape and losing weight, the protein content must be increased. This should be about 1.5 to 2 grams per kilogram of body weight daily. If this is ensured, weight loss can be accelerated and, provided there is adequate movement, an improvement in muscle structures can also be achieved. A protein shake or protein powder supports the building of shaping muscle after sport or after a long walk. At the same time, the protein shake also boosts calorie consumption. It is only important to pay attention to a basic diet that is as low in sugar and fat as possible. Furthermore, you should know that taking protein alone does not support muscle building for long. Rather, this can only be ensured by a suitable amount of movement or sport. Always part of the picture - the protein

The ideal combination - protein shake and sport

Strength training proves ideal in this respect for building muscle. If you take in enough protein powder, muscle building can be sustainably accelerated. Of course, this only works if you do enough sport and your performance portfolio is correspondingly high. The daily protein shake or whey protein ensures that the growth stimulus of the muscles is boosted overall. Why is that? Because the nutrients can be absorbed by the human body very quickly in comparison. That is why it is so important to drink whey protein after training, because only then can your individual training success be pushed. Anyone who for whatever reason cannot do sport for a while should still not go without their whey protein. Because even during training-free phases, the body continues to gradually build up its muscle structures.

An enrichment in the diet plan: whey protein

Assuming you don't drink a protein shake or take in protein during or after sport, there is a risk that your daily protein requirement will not be sufficiently covered. The consequence is that the body, without the daily protein shake, falls back on its own protein. Especially with considerable physical exertion, the body has no other way to help itself. The associated consequence: endurance, individual performance capacity and fitness suffer.

Reach for a protein shake when needed.

Basically, the protein share should be 14 to 16 percent of total energy requirements. If you do not want to eat large amounts of quark, milk, low-fat cheese, legumes, eggs and the like, you can achieve considerably more with protein powder by comparison. Plant proteins are less rich and abundant than animal ones. The fact is, however, that animal protein, figuratively speaking, leaves many with a rather "bland aftertaste". Here, the focus should therefore absolutely be on first-class product quality.

What is whey protein actually?

Milk protein consists essentially of casein and whey protein. The English term for the latter is "whey". What is interesting about milk protein is that it consists of numerous different protein elements, which in turn have a positive effect in the body. Casein is characterised by a comparatively long residence time in the gastrointestinal tract. A firm, gel-like mass forms, which helps to slow digestion somewhat. This is where whey protein comes into play. It is a very quickly digestible protein made up of valuable amino acids. About 60 minutes after intake, outstanding blood values can already be measured. If you compare the absorption speed of the body with plant-based soy protein, it lies above casein and below that of whey protein.

Every protein shake contains plenty of protein and other valuable substances such as isoleucine, lysine, valine, threonine, tryptophan or methionine. Moreover, a protein shake also tastes excellent, and protein powder is known to be available in different flavours. There is therefore plenty of variety. The protein shake has long not been called just protein shake; the term fitness drink is also absolutely legitimate. Muscles are built, fat burning is supported. Furthermore, you simply feel better after every whey protein drink.

Whey protein - the protein diet

Muscle building on the one hand, weight reduction on the other: with whey protein this is possible without having to "suffer hunger". With the right protein powder you can lose weight and build muscle mass, provided the exercise programme is carried out regularly. For many people it is initially confusing that the human body needs a particularly high dose of whey protein during a diet. In general, you burn fat more quickly, which at the same time becomes a valuable energy source for the body. The more food you eat, the fuller the fat stores become. The result: you gain weight. Whey protein, by contrast, is utilised optimally, so that the body preferentially falls back on the fat stores as energy suppliers. In this respect, the protein shake acts less as an "energy provider" and more as valuable building material. For the fact is that new tissue is created through whey protein, or protein.

As is known, the body also needs carbohydrates, which it draws from the food supplied daily, so that these can be converted into energy. But if these are only supplied in small amounts, if at all, increased protein intake is usually the result. The body then consequently falls back on its fat reserves.

Using the right protein shake to lose weight

It is basically quite simple: if at least one meal a day is replaced by whey protein, carbohydrate intake is reduced. Now the so-called indirect fat burning comes into effect, because the body draws on the fat deposits. For it still needs energy to remain capable of performance and function. Fat, by contrast, can only be stored in the reserves, while the protein powder unfolds its effect in the body. It should be noted in this respect that the muscle mass built up by the whey protein also acts as an energy source. The whole thing is particularly effective if you exercise regularly. Certainly, the muscles also need a lot of energy in order to exist at all and to be developed further. Once again, indirect fat burning plays an essential role, because the basal metabolic rate of the body is gradually increased with every protein shake!

At least one protein shake a day

Protein powder should definitely be part of your daily diet. Whether competitive athlete or not, whey protein plays an increasingly important role today. It is worth changing your diet and integrating whey protein or protein powder into your daily menu. This way you don't just feel "simply" better; your health and performance can be sustainably promoted or improved with one protein shake a day.
