Online training plans. How useful are they?

More and more fitness models and bodybuilders are offering their online training plans and nutrition plans at exorbitant prices. They show their muscle-bound bodies on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. and upload videos with nutrition and training tips to YouTube every hour. Many don't even have adequate qualifications.

Looking like the fitness models with an online training plan

Although opinions on training and nutrition vary in all directions, they all have one thing in common: their own muscular bodies, and scientifically sound training recommendations are used to convince viewers. However, scientific data shows that muscle mass depends on genetics by around 70% and is shaped by environmental influences by 30%. For example, most people achieve an increase in muscle mass of approx. 20% after a twelve-week muscle training program for their non-dominant arm.

Only two to three percent of men and women increase their muscle mass exceptionally strongly (>30%) in the same period. For one percent, there is no increase in muscle mass at all, or muscle mass is even lost. To achieve an exceptionally large muscle mass, you therefore need good genetic prerequisites. It is very likely that not all fitness models and bodybuilders have these exceptional genetic advantages, but instead use prohibited substances to help.

Marketing of the online training plan

Advertising works on the principle of illusion. For example, it is no coincidence that fashion houses advertise with models. Fashion houses don't turn women or men into models; rather, they are deliberately selected because they match the beauty ideal. Many sports nutrition manufacturers also use this type of advertising to get their products to people as effectively as possible. An athlete is not so high-performing because he consumes this manufacturer's products; rather, he is selected because he is already successful in the sport. Don't let testimonials dazzle you either. On almost all sites you will read how many people have already succeeded with the training program in question. After several such insistent assurances, you will surely believe that the program must lead to success. Be critical and don't believe everything. Find a coach who has at least a recognized qualification. A large muscle mass and low body fat do not necessarily indicate professional competence.
