Is a Morning Workout More Effective?
A Finnish study looked at men who trained either in the morning (between 7.00 and 9.00) or in the afternoon (between 17.00 and 19.00). At the start, the afternoon group's strength values were clearly better. Over time, however, the differences evened out completely. In general, many studies show that endurance and strength development are at their peak between 16.00 and 19.00. This is probably linked to muscle temperature, which is highest at that time. In general, though, it can be said that everyone has their own preferences. Our body adapts very quickly to the training time. A morning workout may need to be approached a bit more gently until you reach "operating temperature", but it is just as effective as an evening workout. So it really comes down to personal preference whether you train in the morning, at midday or in the evening.
